Hansen Puts Team on Back as Pilots Top Lick-Wilmerding

Box Score

The Pilots (4-14, 2-9) beat Lick-Wilmerding by a score of 2-1 on Friday.  For the second game in a row, SJND rode a dominant pitching performance to pull off the win.  This time, though, the offense struggled mightily managing only two runs on five hits despite having 11 base-runners.

On this day, however, two runs would be enough as sophomore ace Robert Hansen (3-5, 2.29) went the distance in a dominating performance, allowing the Pilots to come away victorious.  Hansen allowed a single unearned run on a pair of hits, three walks, and 10 strikeouts.  He was backed by a solid defense, most notably Ollie Cunningham, who, in the seventh inning with one out, threw out the would be tying run at home plate.

Next Up:  The Pilots visit Piedmont on Wednesday 5/2.  JV hosts Piedmont at COA on 5/2.  Game times  are 3:45PM.

Robert Hansen (2-4, 2.08) took the loss in a game where he went 6+, allowing 3 runs (2 earned), on 5 hits, while striking out a pair.  Ollie Cunningham had a big day, recording three hits and scoring both the Pilot runs.  He also continued his solid defense making all six of his plays on defense.
